The Hindawi Publishing Corporation website (2011) is the publisher of Child Development Research and many other online journals covering numerous topics ranging from Human-Computer Interaction to Condensed Matter Physics. All the journals offered here are open-access and supported by Creative Commons. Excerpt from Hindawi Publishing Corporation website (2011): "Hindawi Publishing Corporation is a commercial publisher of peer-reviewed journals covering a wide range of academic disciplines. Founded in 1997, Hindawi currently employs more than 400 employees and publishes 300+ open access, peer-reviewed journals."

One of the journals I recommend from Hindawi is Child Development Research. Child Development Research is an open access journal that publishes peer-reviewed articles pertaining to current research in child development. While there aren't numerous articles available in this content area, they are reflective of current research in child development that is pertinent to educators of young children. For example, the article Collaborating with Parents in Reducing Children's Challenging Behaviors: Linking Functional Assessment to Intervention (Fettig & Ostrosky, 2011) outlines a study correlating the relationship between a functional assessment-based parent intervention and preschoolers' challenging behaviors with results indicating "that parents were able to implement the functional assessment-based interventions, and these interventions effectively reduced children's challenging behaviors" (Fettig & Ostrosky, 2011). I find this information useful and pertinent to managing challenging behaviors in the classroom while helping me identify criteria for intervention. There are numerous other topics that educators from varying content areas would find helpful, such as Autism Research and Treatment, Depression Research and Treatment (specifically articles relating to child and adolescent depression), and Education Research International. Full citations are provided for each article, making it easy to copy and paste your references.
