The primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data related to education.

The National Center for Educational Statistics (NCES) is a wealth of information pertaining to education in the United States. Within its database you have access to assessments, data collection analysis, tables, charts, graphs, annual reports--the list is numerous! The search features allow you select records from public and private schools, colleges, universities, and libraries, including international resources. The "Fast Facts" option gives you quick reference guides to basic statistics relating to education. The data and analysis provided can be used in a variety of ways. The most common perhaps being writing professional publications, college essays, and dissertations. The information can also be used in teacher training and professional development seminars. I have included data and analysis from NCES on parent handouts and teacher training seminars, as well as grant writing. Secondary and higher education teachers can use the website as a reference database for class projects focusing on education, schools, and career development.
